U9s Bears enjoy big win U9s Bears enjoy big win

Leigh East U9s Bears 13-1 Oldham St Anne's

This was a stunning victory for the U9s Bears as they beat Oldham St Annes by a handsome margin 13 tries to one margin.

It was win described by the coaching staff as "the best we have seen them play as a team, and individual contributions."

East defence was top notch against some bigger Oldham players while in attack there was clever rugby played with forwards marching up field to set the platform.

Ball handlers were then heavily involved, setting up some good scoring plays with drop offs and throwing the ball wide.

It was great entertainment and a pleasure to watch!

The away team selected the Man-of-the-Match - Two try hero Billy Williams. The parents award went to Broden Newsham who scored one try and created several others. Our top tackler was Ewan Gregson who also weighed in with a try. Levi Pemberton picked up the coach award with two tries.

Other scorers were hat-trick hero Ellis Anderson, Tyree Gregson (two tries) and Connor Robb (two tries).
