Pemberton makes final England Youth squad Pemberton makes final England Youth squad

Following his selection to the England Youth Train On Squad earlier in the year, Leigh East were delighted to discover that Under 16s stand-off Taylor Pemberton has made the final squad of 22 to take on France in a two-game series over the next week.

Under 16s Coach and Rugby Chairman Dave Coyle said, "It's absolutely fantastic. It's been a long, long time since it's happened. It's the old equivalent of English Schools and the last person who was picked for that for the club was Ben Davies. That's a number of years ago and this is a big honour for us. I think it goes back to Danny Kilshaw and before that for other players that were selected. It's a big honour."

"Taylor is talented, very talented, very committed and will go out and do what he's best at."

Speaking of making the final 22 himself, Taylor said, "To get selected in that 22 man squad, I'm over the moon, I'm still lost for words. I'm sure that will be a good experience. We go away to camp on the Sunday until the following Saturday and we've got games against France on Wednesday (17th) and Saturday (20th). They are giving us a taste of what it's going to be like if we progress through to a first team."

You will be able to watch Taylor's progress via the RFL OuRLeague app which will stream both games. The app is available to download for free from Play Store for Android and I Store for Apple products, and sign up is also available from the Rugby Football League website.
