Leigh East 2nds 22 v Leyland Warriors 26

Leigh East entertained a big Leyland warriors outfit at Ledgard Avenue and it was the warriors who again took advantage of Easts’ nervy start with two tries in quick succession to take an early 10 nil lead.

East started to get up with the pace of the game with Alan Campbell finishing a superb passage of play to score outwide.

From the resulting kick off East started to move the big Leyland pack around and this paid dividends with Danny Grainey going over close to the posts allowing Zac Nicholls to slot over the extras to pull east level at ten all.

Continually to move the warriors around, East struck once more with Campbell going over for his 2nd and Zac Nicholls again adding the extras to take east to a 16-10 lead.

Leyland hit back on the stroke of half time to square the game up at sixteen all.

The 2nd half saw East dominating early possession allowing Craig Dean to go over to regain the advantage , Danny Grainey adding the extras to lead 22-16.

Enforced Leigh East substitutions, allowed Leylands big pack to find holes in a tiring defence and this eventually resulting in 2 tries to seal the game a 22-26.

We'd also like to take the opportunity to thank William James Recruitment and SRW group for sponsoring our new warm up tops.

And Finally.

Good luck to prop forward Jamie Waters who finally goes under the knife later in the week to sort the troublesome shoulder problem.

All the best from everyone off the “A team “!!
